Call for Late Breaker Abstracts for the 17th Annual HCTRC Research Symposium

Abstract Call
The International and Interdisciplinary Health Care Transition Research Consortium (HCTRC) in collaboration with the 26th Annual Chronic Illness and Disability Conference, Transition from Pediatric to Adult-based Care is pleased to announce the Call for Abstracts for researchers to be presented at the 17th Annual HCTRC Research Symposium in Houston, Texas, on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025. Abstracts will receive notification of acceptance status before June 16th, 2025.
**PLEASE NOTE: The plan is to have this symposium in person this year**

Our international panel of judges will review all HCTRC submissions.
The categories of HCTRC abstracts for presentations (platform and poster) or break out sessions include the following categories:
1. Adolescent/Emerging Adult/Family Experience
2. Continuous Quality Improvement/Program Development/Models of Care
3. Health Provider or Patient/Caregiver Education
4. Health Care Transition Outcomes and Readiness Measures
5. Self-management
6. Mental Health (Inclusion of mental health in healthcare transition; Mental health-focused transition preparation and planning)
7. Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
The deadline for submission for abstracts is Sunday, July 12th at 12:00 midnight, Pacific Time.
Abstracts will be organized according to the following format for the HCTRC Research Symposium.
Abstract Title: Centered, written in title case and bold
Background: Brief presentation of the significance of the study/project
Methods: Sample size and characteristics, research methods, and design.
Results: Study findings presented
Conclusion(s): Study research and clinical implications
Word limit: 300 words
Lunchtime Networking/Breakout sessions will be organized according to the following format for the HCTRC Research Symposium.
Session Title: Centered, written in title case and bold
Goal(s): Brief presentation of the significance of the session and goals. Please list key "take-home messages" of this session.
Intended audience: who would benefit from this.
